The Round That Changed How Kraig Felt About Putting

Updated: Jul 8, 2025

What were you hoping to improve?

I wouldn’t say I was in a slump, but putting had definitely become the weakest part of my game. I’d stand over a short one and second-guess my line, the stroke, even the feel of the club in my hands. I wasn’t looking for magic, I just wanted to feel confident over the ball again.

What surprised you during the fitting?

The biggest surprise was how quickly I could feel the difference. We weren’t just making surface-level changes. Every component, the head, the hosel, the weight, actually shifted how I saw the line and moved through the stroke. It was a different level of detail than I expected and it all felt connected.

How does it feel now when you putt?

Smooth. That’s the word that comes to mind. Nothing feels forced. I step up, aim and roll it. No second-guessing. I shot 78 the other day and it was clear the putter was the difference. After the round, the guys I play with looked at me and said, “Never seen you putt like this.” That kind of feedback says a lot.

What would you tell someone on the fence?

You don’t realise how much a putter can hold you back until you use one that actually fits. This wasn’t a small tweak, it was a complete shift in how I feel on the green. I’m not chasing fixes or trying to compensate anymore. I just step up and trust it.
