From +1 to +4: Why Ryan Says a Fine-Tuned Putter Was a No-Brainer

What were you hoping to improve when you came to Fine-Tuned?

Putting had always been the one part of my game that felt off. I’d mark a line on the ball, do everything by the book and still miss. I just couldn’t consistently get the putter started on the right line. That’s what brought me in. I wasn’t expecting a magic fix, but I hoped a new setup might give me a little more control and consistency.

What surprised you most about the fitting process?

Honestly, I was blown away by how detailed it was. I never would’ve guessed that shaft shape alone could have such a big impact on alignment. That was eye-opening. It wasn’t just about the head or grip the whole system mattered and once we made that change, things started clicking right away.

How has your putting changed since getting your Fine-Tuned build?

The difference has been huge. I’ve become almost automatic inside 8 feet and I rarely 3-putt, maybe once every six or seven rounds, even on large greens. My misses now are misreads, not misalignment. I know the putter is starting the ball where I intend it to. Since the switch, I’ve gone from a +1 to a +4 handicap in just a dozen rounds. That speaks for itself.

What would you tell someone on the fence about getting fitted?

You’d be crazy not to. People spend over $1000 on a driver they hit 14 times a round, maybe less. Meanwhile, putting makes up nearly half your strokes and a good putter can stay in your bag for years, longer than most clubs. Skipping a fitting is like buying a suit off the rack when you could have something custom-made in Italy. There’s just no comparison.
