What Actually Happens in a Fine-Tuned Fitting?

If you’ve never had a putter fitting before, you might picture a few strokes on a practice green, a couple of questions and a “that looks good” from someone holding a clipboard.
That’s not how we do things.
At Fine-Tuned, our fitting process is detailed, data-driven and designed to uncover what your putting stroke actually needs. It’s not about what looks cool. It’s about what helps you aim better, roll better and trust what’s in your hands.
Here’s what we assess and why it matters.

Posture
We start with how you set up.
Your posture affects everything, aim, eye position, shaft lean and how your body moves through the stroke. We assess your natural setup to understand your visual perspective and biomechanics, which helps guide your ideal length, lie angle and address position.
Aim
Most missed putts don’t happen at impact. They happen at setup.
We test how your eyes interact with different head shapes, sightlines and contrasts to uncover what helps you aim square. You’d be surprised how often the putter you think looks best actually points you offline, without you even knowing.
Impact Position
Where is your face pointing at the moment of contact?
We analyze your stroke delivery to see how your hands, posture and balance affect where the ball starts. This helps us fine-tune head design, neck shape and setup position to improve your starting line and consistency.
Rate of Rotation
Different strokes rotate differently and your putter should match.
We measure how your putter face rotates during the stroke and pair you with the right toe hang, neck configuration and center of gravity. That way, the putter wants to return to square naturally, not fight against you.
Tempo
How fast do you move?
Your stroke’s tempo and rhythm influence which weight and balance point will feel best. We use this to dial in speed control and ensure the putter moves with you, not ahead of or behind your motion.
Eye Dominance
Which eye is dominant? It matters.
Your dominant eye influences how you perceive alignment. We assess this to inform sightline placement, shaft position and face orientation, so your eyes and the putter are on the same page.

Launch, Spin & Roll
This is where data meets feel.
We evaluate how the ball leaves the face, checking for launch angle, loft interaction and roll pattern. Then we mill your loft to match how you deliver the putter, giving you the cleanest, most predictable roll possible.
Final Thoughts
This isn’t guesswork.
This isn’t a sales pitch.
It’s a system, built to find your ideal setup.
When a putter is fit properly, you stop thinking about mechanics. You trust the line. You commit to the stroke. You start making putts.
That’s what actually happens in a Fine-Tuned fitting.
We don’t just give you a putter.
We give you a reason to believe in it.
